Hi, I’m Theo.

SHRM-SCP Certified HR Executive. Georgetown-trained. Built for the real world.

I didn't start my HR career in a cozy small business. I started it at the bottom of a mining operation — managing HR for thousands of employees across multiple facilities, sitting across the table from union committees, and learning what it actually takes to lead people through hard things.

Over the past decade-plus, I've built HR systems from the ground up, navigated large-scale reorganizations, led labor relations for industrial operations, and managed workforce planning for 2,000+ employees. I've negotiated union contracts, designed next-generation training models, and led crisis response — including a compassionate reduction in force in the aftermath of a natural disaster.

I hold a Master of Human Resource Management from Georgetown University and a SHRM-SCP certification — the senior-level credential that fewer than 20% of HR professionals ever achieve. I've also served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy Reserves, where I learned that leadership under pressure isn't a theory — it's a practice.

So why am I here, working with small businesses under 50 employees?

Because that's where the gap is. Big companies have entire HR departments. Small businesses have a business owner doing their best with a handbook from 2015 and no one to call when something goes sideways.

I built Good Day Group to change that. You deserve access to the same quality of HR thinking that Fortune 500 companies take for granted — without the cost, complexity, or overhead of a full-time hire.

Practical. Personalized. Human. Always.

What I Believe

HR doesn't have to be scary.

Most business owners avoid HR because it feels overwhelming. My job is to make it approachable — and give you tools that actually make sense for your size and stage.

Experience at scale makes you better at the basics.

Having managed HR for enterprise-level operations doesn't make me overqualified for small business work — it makes me better at it. I know what matters, what doesn't, and where corners can't be cut.

Simple systems beat complicated ones every time.

You don't need a 200-page handbook nobody reads. You need clear, practical infrastructure your team will actually use — and the confidence to lead with it.

A Little More About Me

I'm an Asheville-area local who chose this place on purpose — the mountains, the community, the spirit of people building something they genuinely care about. That energy is exactly why I love working with small businesses.

When I'm not deep in a policy review or designing a bonus program, I'm building Good Day Group into the kind of consultancy I wish existed when I was advising small business owners from the inside. Something practical. Something human. Something worth showing up for.

I started GDG because I wanted work that fits around life — not the other way around. And I believe that's possible for the business owners I work with too.

If you've made it this far, I'd love to meet you.

Enterprise experience. Small business heart.

You don't have to figure out HR alone — and you don't have to overpay for the support you need. GDG brings senior-level HR expertise to businesses that deserve it most.
